Our Story

Sometime early in the 2014, after years of being involved in the leadership of several churches in and outside of Tallahassee, God started to move on Pastors Ed and Rhonda Lloyd’s hearts that a season of transition was imminent. Though they weren’t sure exactly how the Lord would lead them, they felt strongly that He was calling them to a new ministry in Tallahassee, Florida, where they had lived together for 23 years.  Ed had always had a passion for servant leadership, and recalls how God was always placing him in situations where there was a leadership vacuum that he was left responsible for filling through intense teaching and training. Ed and Rhonda traveled to different churches teaching Ed’s brand of leadership which he started developing at the beginning of 2007.They started a Thursday night Bible study in the conference room of the Hilton garden Inn, and plan to continue until the year end, at which time they plan to start Sunday morning services at the same location, while seeking a more permanent place to meet.

Oasis Church started as a Thursday night Bible study, and held its first meeting in the conference room of the Hilton garden Inn in Tallahassee, Florida on September 18, with 30 people in attendance. Since they started, they have held 4 meetings with at least 30 people in attendance, and plan to continue until the year end, at which time they plan to start Sunday morning services at the same location, while seeking a more permanent place to meet.
They believe God to provide a building where they can meet regularly, and implement the unique vision that God has given them for the Tallahassee and surrounding area.

A new day had arrived! The Oasis Senior Leadership Team has evolved, with a clear vision, and contends that the Tallahassee area and the Christian church is in need of this critical vision: “Developing Next Generation Leaders through discipleship, and empowering them to reach their full potential by using their gifts and talents to build the kingdom of God.”
